The above portrait of me is by Vanessa Brassey. You can see her work on her Instagram.
I write about being a sports fan - what it means, why it matters, and how we fans should act.
Recently, I have written about "sportswashing" with Kyle Fruh and Alfred Archer. We are currently working on a book, The Ethics of Sportswashing, to be published by Routledge. Please contact me if you are interested in hearing more!
In 2024, Alfred Archer and I have published Why It's OK to Be a Sports Fan. You can buy the book here, where it is also available to download open access. Recently, SEP has published a symposium on the book, with commentaries from Adam Kadlac, Joe Slater, Nathaniel Baron-Schmitt, and Nina Windgätter and replies from Alfred and me.

I have appeared on the local NPR talk show "Connections with Evan Dawson" several times, written for The New Statesman, AEON, Prospect, and The Prindle Post. I've also spoken to journalists at El Pais and The Huffington Post about the ethics of sports. I'm very happy to speak to journalists about sports ethics: just email me.

As far as I know, there's only one famous Wojtowicz, but I am not related to the bank robber who inspired Dog Day Afternoon. Here is how to pronounce my name. As somebody who doesn't speak Polish, I'm very liberal with the pronunciation, but you should probably not pronounce it like this.
